Accreditation and fees

Accreditation, fees and what we do not do

YourVABenefits is software you run on your own records. We are not VA-accredited, we do not represent you, we do not contact VA, and we do not file claims. Accredited help is free by law.

We are not accredited, and we do not represent you

Applied Growth Technologies LLC, which operates YourVABenefits, is not accredited by the VA Office of General Counsel. No one at YourVABenefits is an accredited attorney, claims agent, or Veterans Service Organization representative. We hold no power of attorney for anyone, and we never act on a veteran's behalf.

Federal law limits who may prepare, present, or prosecute a VA benefits claim for another person and who may charge for it (38 U.S.C. §5901 and §5904; 38 CFR 14.636). Representation by an accredited VSO is free. You can check anyone's accreditation in VA's accreditation search, and VA explains what accredited representatives do.

What this software does

You bring your own records: a VA Blue Button report you downloaded, a claims file VA sent you, private medical records, a DD-214. The software reads them in your browser, lists the conditions those records support, and shows you the page each fact came from. It drafts a veteran statement in your words, an outline your own doctor can use for a nexus letter, and a request you can send to a buddy. You edit, you sign, you decide what goes in the packet.

The packet leaves through you. You file it yourself on VA.gov, or you hand it to the accredited representative you chose, who files it for you at no charge. Nothing you do here reaches VA.

What it does not do

What it costs

Working out what you are owed is free and stays free: the calculators, the guides, finding a representative, and the Intent to File that locks your effective date.

Pro, which reads your records end to end, finds the conditions, drafts the statements and letters, and gives your VSO and doctors a secure link, is $14.95 for one year, charged once when you buy it. It is not a subscription and does not renew unless you buy another year.

The price is the same for everyone and does not depend on your rating, on any increase, or on any decision VA makes. We never take a percentage of your back pay or your monthly compensation, and we never bill you after a decision.

Your records

Files are read on your device. Social Security numbers are masked before anything is sent for analysis. Only the findings you choose are saved to your account, and you can delete them at any time. The privacy notice says what is kept and for how long.

Free help with your claim

A VA-accredited representative reads your actual file and helps free of charge. Find one near you, or use VA's own directory. If someone who is not accredited asks you to pay for help preparing a claim, VA's accredited representative page explains how to report it.
